Windows XP Monitor does not go into power save after playing video

After I play a video on the screen my monitor will not go into power save model (go blank in my case) but stays on permanently until I re-boot.


My PC has the following config.
Windows XP Pro (SP3) with 4096MB of Ram.
processor is a Intel Pentium D CPU 3.40GHz
Motherboard ConRoe945G-DVI
Video adapter is a Radeon X850
Monitor is a Dell 2405FPW
