Trevor

I have a Windows XP professional system with a brand new
AL1715 Acer LCD monitor. My system is setup to go to the
welcome screen after deactivating the screen saver. What
happens sometimes when I try to log back into my acount
(or any account for that matter) is that the monitor
loses connection or something because a grey window pops
on the screen saying no input connection. I reboot the
computer and things work again for a while. I have the
proper drivers loaded and would appreciate some input to
resolve this issue.

Trevor -
I would disable the screensaver and see if the symptom
goes away. If it does, at least you have a clue.

The problem could be in the video card's driver (most
likely), the motherboard BIOS or possibly a Windows file
that has become corrupted (least likely). It could be a
monitor problem but I doubt it. Nevertheless, you might
want to try a different monitor (before changing anything)
just to try to eliminate it as a possibility.

You might check the motherboard BIOS just to be sure that
the preferred video device is set to AGP (which is what I
assume you have, an AGP video card) and NOT on the PCI
video option.

Obviously, I'm just guessing here. The key is to get a
clue somehow.

Good Luck !
