it's been a while since I had any problems with my system, but last night my screen flickered and then went black. I couldn't turn it off using windows .> down arrow> enter >enter. I replaced the monitor and the original works, however this morning it seemed to splutter again.
Just under a year go I had a Vidiot PCI- Tuner and FM card installed. Could this be failing?

When a monitor flickers and then goes black, it's usually a hardware
problem, and usually very simple to fix: Check the power cord. It may not be
securely connected at either or both ends (the weight of the wire and/or the
way it is positioned may cause the business end to pull away from the
monitor) or there may be a problem with the wires inside.

If the problem was caused by a defect in the video cable, the colors would
be messed up but there would still be an image. If the problem was caused by
the video card or its driver, the image on your screen would look
psychedelic but there would still be an image, and you might have an error
message.

If the power cord is not the problem, the monitor itself may be failing.
