Monitor Problem

My husbands computer is one year old. Last night he
returned to find the monitor screen black and the
indicator light amber. He thought it had gone into power
save mode, it hadn't. He turned everything off and
restarted, the monitor light was green, clicked and then
went amber. He hooked my monitor up to his computer and
it did the same thing--- so it is obviously not the
monitor. Any insight?

This happened to one of my monitors. When taken in for repair/replace, I
was told that the tube had gone out and they had to replace the monitor
(glad I purchased the extended warranty).

Check the video card and make sure it is in solid. Remove and reseat. Try
monitor cable from your computer to be sure it is not the cable. They do
fail. Does the computer seem to boot up with the hard drive lighting up for
enough time to load xp. If the disk drive stops fairly quick and you get
anykind of beep then you may have a graphic card bad. Check these out and
repost would help.
