moniter settings HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i downloaded new updates on xp, and i restarted my
computer to install the updates. when the computer
restarted up, my screen had moved over to the right about
an inch. i can not see whats on the right side of the
screen, its out of the moniters veiw. there is about an
inch of blank space on the left side of the screen. i
tried messing with the moniter settings, but they are all
in the right alignment. i really need help...

Have you tried changing the settings on the monitor itself?

Right click a blank area of the Desktop/Properties/Settings tab/Advanced
button/your graphics card tab /look for something like Screen Adjustment/OK
your way out.
