I am using FP02 with XP OS. I have created a site with a custom theme and
now I want to change the "Buttons" for the link bars. Can I go into another
theme and collect separate items like link buttons without destroying the
links I have created? I don't want to change the background or any font
colors (unless the text color doesn't work with the new buttons). I have a
fairly large site and have even thought about redesigning the whole site
(keeping the info, just changing the looks of the site). In your
experience, would it be better to start from scratch, or try to use the
present web and just make changes to it? Thanks for your help. Gary H.

Yes, just:

1. Select Theme from the Format menu.
2. Select your Theme.
3. Click the Modify button.
4. Click the Graphics button.
5. Use the Item drop-down box to select the graphic
you want to replace (i.e. Horizontal Navigation)
and then use the Picture and Font tabs to make
whatever changes you want.

This won't affect the name or the target locations of any
hyperlinks, it'll only affect their appearance.

yah, do what Jim said.

you can even mix .gif buttons from other themes and do a Save As into your own theme.

i've even modified and made my own buttons this way.

sometimes I like the vertical buttons better than the horizontal ones, so I trim down the vertical buttons in photoshop, rename them and use them for horizontals.
