modems

I have Dimension 5100 running XP. Current internt connection is BT broadband
using Voyager 205 ADSL. Both my sons have wireless enabled lap tops and have
bought Linksys wireless WRT54GS which needs to be connected between modem and
PC. So here's the question - where's the modem? Currently tel line goes
into Voyager and from there to back of PC (via Ethernet). The linksys has no
input for tel line so how do I route the the cables? As ever grateful for
advice.

The modem is the BT Voyager 205.. if it is connected to your computer via a
USB cable, remove it, and use a CAT5 ethernet patch cable between the modem
and the wireless broadband router, and then another patch cable between your
computer and the wireless router..

You will most likely have to run your ISP connection software again if the
modem was originally connected by USB..

The set up is:

1. DSL line from DSL modem to telephone jack at wall. Leave this alone!
2. Ethernet cable from DSL modem to router. This is the ethernet cable
that right now is going from the DSL modem to your computer.

If you run the Linksys setup - which you are supposed to do before you
install anything - it will take you through setting up the Linksys with
your DSL modem step-by-step with pictures.

Grateful for advice, not using USB between voyager and PC but the ethernet
cable provided.
If I have this right then its tel cable to voyager, ethernet to linksys,
ethernet to PC.
