I am runing window Xp and just recently I tryed to
connect to the internet using an internal 56k modem and
the system just froze. I have tryed to query the modem
and that just freezes the computer to. I have also tryed
uninstalling and reinstalling the driver and this hasent
worked.
Please help

Have you got the XP drivers for the modem installed ( is it supported by XP?)?

You don't say if this is a new modem or that it worked previously.

System Restore?

Shutdown, remove modem, restart fully, shutdown, install modem, restart and
let XP find drivers. (have no idea if this is gonna accomplish anything).

Is the modem showing properly in device manager? No exclamation points?
Modem firmware updates?
