Guido, your problem is your modem driver. Either you've
installed it, in which case it's probably missing a
dependency somewhere, or you've componentised it, and
there's a problem with the component. Using netsh is not
going to sort out the speed problem with your modem.

In that case, are you sure that you have driver for modem. Last time I used
modems they were using only inf files to define various AT settings and
response strings. Most of them (not software modems) work without anything
else.

You need to set some AT strings than will initialize it by default, when you
dial, they are modem specific, and you can read them from working XP, or win
2000.

Best regards,
Slobodan

Can we keep this issue in this one thread and not start a
new one again? Thanks.
The error you reported before was 674, which was to do
with not being able to read the speed from the .inf file,
which sounds very likely to be responsible for your
problem.
Whether this was the error or not, you have two
possibilities - your driver is broken, or your driver has
dependencies you don't know about.
I would suggest you install the driver normally on the Xpe
image. If this corrects the problem, then you know your
driver component is at fault, and I suggest you use inctrl
5 (available from xpefiles.com) to track the installation
on an XPPro system and create a new component from this
information.
If you cannot install the driver, please report what
problems you have *in this thread* and we'll try to get
you sorted out.
If installing the driver works, but you still have the
same problems, then you know you are missing a dependency
somewhere.

Ciao Fabio,

If your modem is a U.S robotics faxmodem 1801 or TI then the driver is also supported by MS, and you can find it in TD. Maybe you
can try with that driver.
Also, try to check your country settings in the Modem Control Panel.
