This is a stupid problem, but it is a problem. A friend asked me how t
fix the problem, and although I encountered it myself a long time ago
have forgotten how to fix it. She is running a Sony Vaio desktop wit
a 56K Agere '97 modem. THe operating system is Windows Xp Home, wit
both SP1 and Sp2. As she lives out in the country, she ha
consistently slow connection speeds, probably in the range of 28.
kbps. When she connects, then rolls the cursor over the mode
indicator in the tray, it indicates a connection speed of 115,200. Sh
would prefer that it read the actual initial connection speed, fo
example: 28.8 kbps. Does anyone know how to change the way it reads.
I seem to recall at one time it did read the way she wants, bu
something caused it to change. Thank you in advance!- Woody
