PCI SoftV92 56 kbps modem by Conexant
No matter what I am receiving through the Internet, the modem icon in my
"tray" indicates a speed in the 40s of kbpi.
Right now, nothing is moving through my modem. It shows 46.6 kbpi.
A few minutes ago, I was listening to music via RealPlayer, which
indicated 32 kbpi The modem icon indicated 48 kbip.
When I download a large file via WS_FTP yesterday, that FTP client
indicated 52 kbip. The modem icon indicates 46 kbpi.
I ran a browser download test from Giganews. See
<http://www.giganews.com/test_connect.html>. The file was 3131 kB,
which required 607.7 sec. That is 41.218 kbps. The modem icon showed a
constant 48.0 kbps.
