modem problem

i have broadband internet, whenever i turn onthe computer and the modem isnt
on, everything works, and loads, but as soon as i turn on the modem, the
computer restarts, please help

Are you using a cable modem or DSL? Is the connection to
the computer using a CAT 5 cable to a network card
[Ethernet] or is it using a USB connection?

Have you scanned for viruses and spyware?


Did it ever work in the present configuration?
