Modem on Terminal Server

I have a number of users that connect to TS across our WAN
to run an application on the TS server. One of the users
has a need to transmit policies, so we put a modem on the
server. The dial out will work when the modem is first
installed. It works from both the console and from a TS
session. After a period of time, the application fails to
dial out, and the only way to get it working again is to
delete the modem then re-add it. Also, this only works if
the user is set up as a local admin on the TS server.
Am I missing something?

Thanks...

Had the same problems with some customers who called to local banks for
submitting transactions. Most applications use RAS dial-up connections to
connect to the serversystems of the banks.

Try removing/disabling the option "Use default gateway ... the network". On
the other hand make sure your modem resets properly after use. You can add a
reset command after disconnection. Try this by turning your modem of and
back on after use (has the same effect as removing and installing since the
serial port is reset).

We use only one type of modem and these are from ZyXEL.
