Modem issue

Hi,

I'm running Win2000 Pro and Server and have the same
problem with both.
From time to time, for no apparent reason, the modem
disappears from the hardware list and I have to reinstall
it. The problem is it can take up to 20 times before
Windows will accept the modem (usually comes up with
the 'Not digitally signed' message and discontinues
install. I have an LT Win modem. Short of replacing the
modem with a better one is there anything I can do to
prevent this rom happening?
I have tried updating drivers for the modem but still the
same problem (works perfectly by the way with Win98 and XP)

I had the same thing.
tried two such modems that were working perfectly with win98
but I'd keep loosing them on win2k

eventually went with a diferent modem entirely and the problem was solved...
they just do not seem to work with win2k
