Modem Incoming Calls

When ever I'm online, I get messages from my modem saying
there is an incoming call. But I don't have call
waiting, so there can't be an incoming call!

Is there a way to set my modem so that it won't send me
these messages?

go into control panel and then into modem properties there
will be something in there. sometimes a modem will add an
icon in control panel try in there too
