Modem audio to PC Speakers - where's it gone?

Until I installed a new sound card the audio from my modem (the dial-up
noise) came through my PC's internal speaker. I find this quite convenient
as it is not too intrusive, and is always there - regardless of whether or
not my main speakers are turned on or not. Now the dial-up sound comes
through the main speakers, and I can find nothing in any set-ups to make it
revert to the PC speaker.

Incidentally, I have Lotus Organizer installed and the alarm sounds for this
still come through the PC speaker - which seems to indicate that it should
be possible to make the modem do the same.

Can anyone offer any advice please.

Control panel ---modem---highlite your modem---click properties---and set your
modem volume control to high.

there is probably a cable that you can connect from the modem (voic fax) to
the mother board.
