modem application

why my modem application is running allthe time. i go to task
manager and end modem task and close. when i open task
manager still modem application starts runing. some body
can tell me how to crrect that.
 
In your browser: tools/ internet options/ connections/ click on never
connect.
You probably have checked: 'dial whenever......'
