Mobile Device Center Issues

I recently updated my RC1 to RC2 and downloaded the Mobile Device Center
(Beta 3) package from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/devicecenter.mspx

My problem is when I run the installer nothing happens. I double click it
and it looks like it will run but nothing ever happens.

I am logged in as a user with Admin rights, I re-downloaded the installer,
and I tried it on 2 separate machines with the same results. Anyone have any
ideas?

PS
One system is a Dell Optiplex, 1.5 gig ram, 200 gig HD Only Vista RC2 and
Office 2k7, the other is a homebuilt P4 3 Gig HT, 2 gig RAM 300 Gig HD and
only Vista RC2 Office 2k7

My Device is Treo 700 WM5

Supposedly Office 2K7 reports as Office 2k3 if this ever runs the install.

Check your Programs center in the Control Panel (what used ot be add remove
programs) and select Uninstall a Program, you should see Windows Mobile
Device Center and Windows Mobile Device Center Driver Update listed.

If they are, you are good to go.

I've heard some reports of issues with the new OneCare 1.5 beta and the
Windows Mobile Device center that were resolved by uninstalling OneCare.

WOW Bill, thanks. Someone that really know! I had same result of quite run.
Now I checked Control Panel and there is an update. I see WMDC listed as
version 6.0.6526.

Problem still is: there is no change to WMDC. It doesn't connect, doesn't
see my device.

I imagine there is a device now to be listed in Device Manager? I don't see
one. Where would it be listed? (portable devices?)

I've got a Samsung i730 with WM5. Would love to help give feedback to
Microsoft but can even begin to make it work.

Hope you can help!

If your device already has two partnerships on it, you'll need to delete at
least one before the WMDC will pick it up.

Erol,

No problem.

Have you installed any Anti-Virus or firewall software on your system?
