AMD announced today the immediate availability of the mobile 2000+ and 1900+ chips, based on the Thoroughbred-B revision core. HP already has laptops available with the chips inside, which makes you wonder why they get the chips so early, when I haven't even seen a single Athlon XP 2600+ or 2400+ yet. Paper releases should be illegal.
Other companies such as Packard Bell and Compaq will also be offering notebooks based on the new chips.
The XP 2000+ and 1900+ are priced at $345 and $239, respectively, in 1,000-unit quantities.
For more info, check out the full press release over at AMD.
