MMC - Remote Desktops - Action Cancelled/The page cannot be displa

Ok, i think this is the correct forum to post this question... but it's a
real doosie.

I'm running a windows xp pro, SP 2

I installed the Windows Server 2003 Administrator's Tools so i could use
some of the MMC - Remote Desktop tools and snap-ons.

I was connecting to computers and using them just fine, until i got a
browser highjacker installed on my computer.

I fixed it by changing the startup page and running Spybot Search and
Destroy, as well as my ZoneAlarm Spyware and Virus search.

So i have a clean system.

I tried to connect to another computer with MMC Remote Desktops. I have the
Console Tree, and i add a computer that's on the network and my computer is
able to see.

When i try to connect in the right panel where the computer connection
should be, i get a page that says-

Action Cancelled

Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page
might be temporarily unavailable.

When i refresh the page, i get this-

The page cannot be displayed

The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site might be
experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your browser
settings.

When i open internet explorer, everything works just fine. I'm able to go
anywhere i want, and when i changed all the security settings to allow
everything, Remote Desktops still didn't work.

I reinstalled Administrator's Tools, didn't work.

I reinstalled my winsocks and tcp/ip, didn't work.

I tried to reinstall Internet Explorer 6.0, but i wasn't able to get it
fully off my system to reinstall, that included going into the registry and
changing the install value to 0.

Right now i'm at a total loss... i'm able to run Remote Desktop Connect, but
i need to be able to use Remote Desktops through MMC. RDC opens a new session
when i connect to the computer with it.

If anyone could help me it'd be much appreciated.

I am having the same problem... have you been able to solve it yet?
Does anyone else have any feedback?

I would appreciate any input

Many thanks
