Here is the problem.
Customer fired last IT guy.
No documentation on setup.
Its running SBS2000 with w2k patched to SP4.
I can't open "Network Connections"
If i try explorer.exe freezes and has to be stopped and restarted
I can open some MMC snap-ins like 'services', but when i try to change
settings
on a service then the MMC freezes and has to be terminated.
And i also cannot install / or uninstall anything because i get an error
that the installer service is not responding
Basically no settings can be changed because i can't open anything.
There is no evidence of a virus or spyware but i can't be completely sure
because i cannot check
I also have the same problem with 'network connections' and mmc in Safe Mode
Anyone see this before? or is it screwed and needs to be formatted.
I DON"T want to do this since that basically means rebuilding the whole
network.
Keep in mind also backups don't work and thats why we were called.
