Hi All
My PC (running Windows XP Home) crashed a couple of times
recently due to a hardware fault. This is now sorted but
in the last few days the system has begun to run very
slowly.
I use fully updated Norton security products (anti-virus,
firewall, Utilities etc). When I ran Norton Utilities to
find/fix problems it uncovered a bunch of broken links,
registry errors etc, most of which it fixed. However,
one message tells me that I have a missing file, "Missing
file C:\Windows\System32\MAPISRVR.EXE cannot access a
necessary file gapi32.dll".
I have tried searching the HDD and the XP CD-ROM, but
cannot find the file to solve the error. The system was
still very unstable, so I reinstalled XP as an 'over-the-
top' dynamic install to try and fix the error. The
system is better, but still slow and it has not fixed the
missing file. I am now stuck on what my next move might
be...any suggestions?
Thanks in advance
Dave
