MIssing system tray icons

S

Suilebhan

I've seen a few post that speak of missing sys tray icons.
I , too, find that when i boot into XP Pro, the system
tray does not load, and thus no icons appear there.

I have a crappy solution. Intead of restarting, just log
off and log back on. Every time I do this, the system tray
loads properly, and all the its icons are present.

Strange, huh.

Hi, Suilebhan.

So that we don't each try to "reinvent the wheel", why don't you tell us
what you've already tried. Like, did you right-click on the clock and try
Customize Notifications... There are many possibilities here; maybe some of
them will suit your needs. You might also right-click the Start button or a
blank area on the Taskbar and click Properties to see something similar.
See if Hide inactive icons is checked, and click the Customize button for
details and specific settings.

Does your clock appear (in the bottom right corner, by default)?

When you log off and back on, are you logging on as a different User?
