Missing Status Bar

I've recently installed XP on my machine and ran it
through update. Unfortunately, IE is not displaying a
status bar (where the link information and the
security "lock" status are displayed). This is IE 6,
SP1, plus Q818529 and Q330994. It all works fine, but
I'd like to see where my links are taking me. =) Any
help on how to turn the status bar back on?

Strangely enough, if I click the "Search" button in this
forum, the window it brings up has a status bar. I just
can't figure out how to make it stay.
