missing sound card and disc drive

my sister is missing her sound card on her computer, so therefor she has no
sound.
and also, her disc drive wont let her upload the cd's she puts in it and it
wont let her save either.
if anyone has the solutions to this, please write back. thank you

If the sound card really is missing, a trip to a computer store to buy
one is the fastest solution. On the other hand, if she's misinterpreting
an unstated error message, then you'll have to give us better information.

What do you mean by "upload CDs" - rip music CDs or copy data files off
them or something else? Are there any error messages? What software is
she using to do this?
