Hello.
I had a hard drive crash.
I reinstalled XP home and brought in backed-up data from
my MP3 player. But I am missing my Sound recorder, and
the Paint programs, and the character map. There may be
more missing.
I am unable to get any sound recorded from the mike when
Recorder was present after the install.
I am confused.

I got a reply to go to add programs in the control panel
after putting in my recovery discs. Are there step-by-
step directions since I searched these discs and found
nothing about the recorder or paint programs.

thanks.

Hi,

Go to the Control Panel/Add & Remove, click on the Windows Components, you
can add those programs from there. As to the sound problem, you probably
need to reinstall your sound card drivers.
