Norton WinDoctor (NU2002) was unable to repair the problem, which stated,"
MISSING PROGRAM FILE (1 Problem)
One or more programs on your computer Reference Files that are inaccessible or cannot be found. This might cause the program to be run improperly or not at all.

I had reloaded SETUP program & W2K PRO, but the problem remained.

Pls help! TIA.

Hi David,
No details in the report. Apparently, it appeared after the removal of a virus.
Associated problem is as follows:-----
Another problem is Error Dialog Box appears whenever
power up the computer, which says " An error #18 has occured, & Setup is
unable to continue. This problem can be caused by a corrupted copy of the
Setup program or by a bad disk. It might be helpful to reset your system &
try again. If the problem persists, please contact AOL for assistance.
But the AOL tech could not solve it. It's a nuisance that I have to close
the BOX to log on to INTERNET all the time. TIA.

Hi Chang,
The only thing I can tell you based on this information is that it appears you're missing an executable from an installed application. Are there any more details in the WinDoctor report? Does it reference a specific file-name or application?

If the error references a specific application, try reinstalling that application.

Hi David,
Thank you kindly for the reply. The viruses removed were Magistr.B (
killed by pqremove ( PANDA S/W) & perhaps the viruses that surfaced 2
months ago!

When I typed START|RUN|MSCONFIG, the dialog box appeared:------Cannot find the file "msconfig" (or one of its components). Make sure the path & filename are correct & that all required libraries are available.

Will highly appreciate if you don't mind advising what approach s/b
undertaken. TIA.
CHANG.
