I can't find my post as of last night and see that NO posts for the 25th and
early morning of the 26th are here!!!! All are GONE!

I asked about the JUMPING of the messages on Usenet. We can't read a
message all the way through because the screen the message is on, here in
OE6 JUMPS back to the top of the message, over and over. The cursor shows a
"busy" for a split second the post just snaps to the top again. It's very
annoying as we lose our place over and over again. What can we do to stop
this "jumping" back to the top of the message? We have a new HP PC with
W-XP already installed on it. Any ideas would be appreciated as we use
Usenet quite a lot. Thanks......

Go to Tools\Options\Maintenance\CleanUp\Reset. this will reset all of your
headers.
Hope this helps.

I looked at your message source and noticed that you are drawing news
from direcpc.com newsgroup server. They may have had a problem, or have
their settings to age files. Might want to check with them.

You can always use another newsgroup server (there are thousands around
the world). Some use Microsoft's for Microsoft-sponsored newsgroups:
msnews.microsoft.com (they recently have had technical issues associated
with hackers, spam, ... who knows? ... to make them slow and
non-performant. sad but seems to be the state of the world in the 21st
century. so using them may not be the best. i'm not sure if this
resolved or not.)

Also check your copies of these files in OE by looking how you set
maintenance aging.: Menu: Tools/Options, Tab: Maintenance
