When I add a second Sata hard drive; I can't boot into windows anymore.

Message: NTLDR is missing press Control-alt -del to restart

I can get into windows if only my C: drive is plugged in.

How can I fix this so I can get my second drive to work? Both sata cables
are plugged directly into the motherboard

Yes, I have read that.

But the mystery is: the D: hard drive is all my data and I have been using
it for weeks. I unplugged it and ran off C: alone today.

Now when I plug in the power cable I get the NTLDR missing during bootup.
I can't tell why this only happens when I plug the power in my D:
drive---[system is off of course].

I just wanted to know why my second drive that was working is now causing
this ntldr missing problem. I checked the bios and nothing has changed there.

I had been working with a boot floppy-but it was with another C: drive.
I shut down with that drive and then I reinstalled my original C: and D:
drives.
Now I have the problem.
