Missing Ntdll.dll file

when trying to update win ME, to sp4, i get the following
message -- SP4EXPRESS_EN.EXE file is linked to missing
export NTDLL.DLL:strstr.




i would really apreciate it if someone could give me a
little advice, as i'm new to computers. i've tryed
installing windows 98, 98 SE, and xp, but for some reason
they don't work at all on my computer, that's not what i
want help with, but i also don't want to hear that i should
change to one of the other os's. i'm stuck with win ME, and
buy the sounds of it, it happens to be one of the most
buggiest os's out there. i'm having trouble even starting
up the computer, constate blue screans, errors poping out
of me eyes. takes about 20 mins before the computer will
start up right, and even then if a program stops running i
try to end task, and blamo, back to the blue error screen i
go, i've reinstalled ME about 5 times, and have tried to
install other os's. everything just seems to crash,
explora, winamp, anything that happens to be open, So
pleaseeeeeeee i beg, Email me, even if to tell me i need a
new computer,, Thanks

There is no SP4 for Me. SP4 is for 2000 and Windows 2000 has to be installed.

Wayne, it's hard to hear any useful info among your sobs of frustration.
Describe the PC. Either it's 20 years old, or it's broken, or you're
doing something really, truly, deeply wrong. As BT points out, if you're
trying to install any sp4 to ME, you're already in the wrong ballpark,
on the wrong side of town, in the wrong city, and you've brought the
wrong equipment.

With a perfect record of failure to install any OS at all, I'm inclined
to believe the problem rests with you...and a quick trip to the nearest
small (not big, find a one-person shop) computer store will do you and
the PC a world of good. Until you know how much you don't know, you
haven't got a prayer. Good luck
