missing new message

I have Outlook 2007 on Windows XP and frequently when I login it says I have
one unread mail message. Once in a while the count will correct itself but
not often. I have looked in the Unread folder under Search Folders. I do have
three PST files for three accounts but none them appear to have an unread
message. I have cleaned out the folders and compacted them as well. Any hints
on how to correct it or find the missing message?
