Missing msvcr80.dll in .Net Framework 2.0

I downloaded .Net Framework 2.0 and installed it but it fails and the
programs that rely on it fail because they say they can't find msvcr80.dll.
I uninstalled the download and redownloaded and reinstalled and got the same
situation. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong or how I can fix this?

Had the very same dll missing as well as another that started with
ms***.80.dll on my Dad's pc(Windows XP) so I Googled it ,downloaded ,then
extracted to Windows/System32 & it fixed it.-Gary

you should just search for the msvcr80.dll file on your pc and or your
window cd,-- and then copy and paste it into the system32 file
 
hope you not useing norton suystem work- as norton give a error reading
for that dll
