Missing "Install New Font" command

My "Install New Font" command seems to be missing from the
File menu in my Fonts folder. I have read several posts
about this same issue happening with Windows 98 and even a
Microsoft Knowledge Base article but nothing relating to
Windows XP Home Edition, which is what I'm using. Has
anyone seen this happening with XP? Does anyone know how to
fix it?

Sounds like the folder has been messed up somehow...

Try installing TweakUI and going to the repair tab, and select repair font
folder

Open a DOS box and type:

attrib +s /Windows/Fonts

That will restore the "system" property to the "Fonts" folder, and the
"Install" command should reappear.

Same answer as in earlier Windows. It has probably lost the System
attribute of the Fonts folder. All Programs - Accessories - Command
Prompt and give
ATTRIB +S C:\WINDOWS\FONTS
EXIT
