Missing icons and buttons in explorer

Hi,

I have a Windows 2000 sp4 development system that has the XPe sp2 tools on
it. I build my image there and then want to transfer the image to my target.
I have a zip drive (fat 32) that I transfer the files to. I boot my target
using a windows98 dos boot diskette. I have xcopy32 that I use to transfer
image from zip disk to harddrive of target. Long filenames are being cut off
during the copy. The image goes through FBA and starts up just fine. But I
do not have a task bar with the start button on it. I am able to start up
explorer but all the buttons along the top of the toolbar are gone. And if I
double click to look at my c:\ drive I am missing the file and folder icons
but their names are present.

Maybe I am not going about the copy/transfer in the best way. Any
suggestions?

Thanks

Dee,

I am not quite sure what you are asking for.

You do know the problem - long file names. Why not fixing it? There are some 3rd party solutions to support long file names under
DOS (if you still want to stick with the DOS/xcopy32 approach).
Some of the tools are freeware. E.g., http://www.odi.ch/prog/prog.php (LFN Tools)

Hello Dee

was proving what it said KM to you, of the Lcopy but does not work to me. I
am thankful to you you indicate to me if already you obtained it and since
you did it.
Thanks, Moli
