i am running an application on XP Pro and XPE, the font of the
application looks different on them. is there a way i can figure out
what default/system font is used by XP Pro and then change the setting
in XPE accordingly?

thanks!

mike,

You may want to use FontTraker component from www.xpefiles.com.

Also, match the settigns on your XPe target to XP Pro system under the following key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes]

KM,

i used FontTracker. is there anything i need to do beside including it
as a component in my XPE image?

on XP Pro, there are about 20 entrances in "FontSubstitutes"; on XPE,
there are only about 4. do i manually add them or should i add those
missing font compoents in TD so they will be automatically added each
time?

thanks

mike,

You may also want to add SysFonts components from xpefiles.com. It will help you to fix OEM fonts in your runtime.

For the FontSubstitutes I'd recommend the following approach:
- Delete the key at runtime with all its content. Reboot and check the app.
- If not fixed, export the FontSubstitutes key from XP Pro machine and import it at XPe runtime. Reboot and see if it fixed the
app font problems.
