Hi everyone,

After finishing some work today I shut down my pc, there were windows
updates to install so I left my pc to install then shut down. However tonight
when I turned my pc back on I noticed I had a different login screen. I was
able to login but messages starting coming up on entry to windows, these
included "application has failed to start because MSIM32.dll was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem" and I can not open
Internet Explorer, Outlook, I can also not access Help and Support nor the
Display option in Control Panel but most other programmes seem to open and
work ok. I hvae also noticed when opening things like the control panel the
navigation panel to the left haschanged colour. I am using Windows XP home
Edition and have recently upgraded Office to the 2007 edition. Any assistance
would be appreciated

MS issued an Update that corrupted the Installer, and you will need the
latest update to fix that.

You receive an access violation error and the system may appear to become
unresponsive when you try to install an update from Windows Update or from
Microsoft Update: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/927891/en-us

After that, you will probably need to uninstall all those other updates, and
do them again. After that, I suggest trying SFC again, too.
