I recently began using OWA from home to check emails to aid me in the
transition to begin working from home when necessary. However, my emails do
not always come through. There have been times when there was an email in my
inbox that I saw before I left work, but when i tried to read it again at
home, it wasn't there.

Sometimes I do not get any emails when I am logged in via OWA. When I get
into work the next morning, I have several.

I have contacted our IT dept but was told they do not support home set ups.

Then access OWA at work, see if you have the same problem. If you do, call
the IT Department back.

If you don't, call them back and ask why OWA is implemented if they aren't
planning on supporting it and ask them what the supported method of accessing
email from home is.

I did access email on the same account on another pc at work. None of the
items in my inbox were there. I asked a co-worker to send a test email. It
appeared in the OWA inbox and then on my work pc, but when I closed OWA and
then logged back in, it was gone also.

Does it make a difference if the email at work is delivered to "Personal
Folders"?

Yes.

Assuming Personal Folders == a PST you have configured.

OWA is access to the mail on your Exchange server.

It does not touch your computer in any way.
