missing desktop

I am able to log into XP Professional and it loads my
personal settings but there is nothing on my desktop. I
just have my background desktop theme, no icons nothing.
I have tried rebooting to last good config but no luck.
any ideas?

Go to your display settings and then click on advance.
You can check options such as: My Computer, etc.

Actaully, I can only get around by hitting ctl+alt+del
and selecting the run command. I believe someone else is
having the same trouble I am today, it is posted with the
same symptoms I am having.

Create a new user account and log onto it. Does that account have the same
trouble? If no, transfer your data to the new account. When finished,
delete the damaged account.
