Missing/corrupt File while installing XP

While trying to reinstall windows XP it said
<windowsroot>\system32\hal.dll was either missing or
corrupt, and to reinstall it before resuming, any ideas?
 
Alex, go into the Bios and set the Cdrom as first boot device.
