missing cd writer driver

When I try to open my cd-writer it does not open. When I
go to my computer, it only shows the cd-rom/dvd rom
driver on it. It seems to have disappeared. Any
suggestions?

Your CD writer software talks to the CD/DVD driver which talks to the
hardware. It is not a driver itself.
What do you do to open your CD-Writer software and what does happen when you
try?
