missing cd / dvd drives in my computer

I have (created by myself) some computer issues that are becoming very
frustrating. It seems the further I delve into trying to understand it
seems the farther away from a fix I am getting. I bought the kids each an
iPod shuffle and I have been having a hell of a time trying to get them to
work. In this process I have removed my computers' recognition of having a
DVD/CD player installed, any suggestions on how to get my cd /DVD drives to
be seen again?

Try... System,Device Manager, and see if your CD player is in the list.
If it's there than check if youre not missing the -Driver-. Select you
icon and right click on it.If you are, check the manufacturers web sit
to get a new one.But if it's not recognized i think your DVD/CD playe
might not be plugged, or installed correctly.
Have you bought it separately or did it come with your PC?
