Missing cd drive

Windows Xp 2GB memery .divice manager says it loaded the drivers but can't
find the drive. you can't see it in my computer. I tryed other
drives.change cables.and from main to 2nd ide .and nothing works. computer
was working good yesterday Thanks.Bill
 
Uninstall the CD Drive from the Device Manager and restart the computer or
search for hardware changes in the computer name of the Device Manager. To
me a restart is more reliable. Wait a couple of minutes for the drive to be
reinstalled by the Plug and Play service. If that doesn't help, see if the
BIOS detects it and configure it as needed.
