Filter drivers are usually for hard drives and assist the
Windows driver by enhancing some functions, but they can
cause trouble where CD burners and the like are involved.

I would check with the computer manufacturer or the
motherboard manufacturer's web site for an updated INF
file for the motherboard, assuming you're using an IDE
drive and the IDE controller on the motherboard. The INF
file is usually supplied by the manufacturer of the
chipset that is on the motherboard. There should be a link
to it on the motherboard manufacturer's web site.

If the motherboard has an Intel chipset, try the Intel web
site; if it's a VIA chipset, try the VIA web site, etc.
You can find out which chipset is on the motherboard by
opening the computer and looking at the motherboard, or if
you have the manual that came with the motherboard (or
computer), it will be specified there.

Good Luck !
