Did you open Windows Explorer and locate this under the C:\ Root:

[+] Floppy Drive (A)

Desktop
Favourites

If you cannot see it, try to click on Tools >> Folder Options >> View and
check Show Hidden Files/Folders on system ( make sure to Uncheck later and
check Hide Files and folders on system?.

The only files that were there was an Adobe and a desktop.ini file.
Yesterday I searched the internet for help and found a suggestion that the
..ini file might be missing information. So I compared the 2 and in fact it
was missing [email protected],-28997. So I added that to the
file hoping that would help, but no change.
I get the error when I try to open pictures with Microsoft Picture It 2001.
At 1st it was not giving me Picture it as an option in the list of "Open
With". So I removed the program and added it again. I forced the Picture It
option into Open With by going into the program files and hitting PIP.exe.
But no change, still got the error. The Picture It program is working fine,
because I can open the program and work on all my pictures. The problem is
the path getting to the program.
I really appreciate your help thnak you,

If this happened recently you can try system restore to an earlier date,
also make sure your system is malware and virus free.

Have a look in the Event Viewer for error messages(X) that can shed some
light and post it back in your next post by performing the following and also
the System File Checker (SFC) sfc /scannow:

Open a Notepad, customize or minimize to the taskbar as you will need it
later for this step to copy the error message on it.
Open a run command and type in:
eventvwr.msc click [OK] you will get the Event viewer control Panel.
click on each of these:
Application
System
Security
Look in the right Pane/window for error message with red (X) or Yellow
exclamation mark /!\ , double click each one to get more info about the
causer.
On the Event error properties message you will see:
Up Arrow
Down arrow
Two pages
Click on the two pages to copy the error message then bring up the Notepad
you opened earlier and right click on the first line and select Paste from
the list, this will paste the error message on a Notepad.

I already had searched Microsoft website for the error and had no luck. The
error message is "C:/Documents and Settings\user\My Documents\My
Pictures\8-12-2006.JPG does not exist". But I'm able to open the picture with
any other program except Picture It.

I searched the event viewer the only warning I get everyday in Applications
is Event ID 1517. "Windows saved user BARBARA\Barb registry while an
application or service was still using the registry during log off. The
memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be
unloaded when it is no longer in use. This is often caused by services
running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the
LocalService or NetworkService account". I went to Help & Support and it said
no action required on this event.
In System I get an error, Event 7026 everyday-"The following boot-start or
system-start driver(s) failed to load: cdudf_xp". I don't know which driver
that I have that is bad.

Click on Customize >> Click on [Clear List..] Click on Advanced Tab then

click on [Clear List..] button.
Run Disk Clean up and Defrag in safe mode.

I did that and no change. I also restarted my computer. I thinking
this
has
to be a Microsoft Picture It problem, because the error I'm getting
is
from
Picture It. But now the error message has the right format of c:\
now.
No new event errors.
Do you know anything about Picture It?

.ini file might be missing information. So I compared the 2 and
in
fact
it
was missing [email protected],-28997. So I added
that
to the
file hoping that would help, but no change.
The error I get is with c:/

Try to clear your Recent Documents by Right click Start Button>>
Properties
Click on Customize >> Click on [Clear List..] Click on
Advanced
Tab
then
click on [Clear List..] button.
Run Disk Clean up and Defrag in safe mode.

I'm sorry I sent to soon before without answering all your questions.

!st I was trying to find the folder C:\Documents and Settings\Barb\My
Documents/My Pictures\8-12-2006.JPG or a Picture It folder in that file, but
I guess the folder doesn't matter because the other photo programs I have are
not there and they work fine.

I got off on a different subject with the driver cdudf_xp, because one of
your people asked me about errors I was getting in the event viewer. I'm
still getting that error, but I guess it's associated with Easy Creator 7 and
I Have Roxio Easy Creator 9.

The main reason for my writing is I wanted to be able to use Picture It was
my default program for pictures. It has always worked in the past, but I did
something to mess it up. Right now they open with Windows picture and fax
viewer.
I also have Nero 7 and Easy Media Creator 9.

OK I think I understand better now what you are trying to do.

Let try this.....
Do a search for any jpg file, doesn't matter where it's at. Once found
right click it and select Open With. If you do not see "Picture It" listed
in the context menu then select the "Choose Program" button. Do you see
"Picture It" listed anywhere there? and if you do select it then also check
the box at the bottom to "Always use the selected program to open this kind
of file".

I do have Picture It as one of my choices in Open With. But when I select it
I get that error.
