Missing Audio Hardware

Hi,

I am running Win Xp Home Edition with all the updates. Recently, I had
problem with my CD-RW/DVD combo drive and my Creative Live Sound Card. I
have managed to fix the DVD but not the Creative Live 5.1 Card. It is
present in the Device Manager but not under ' Sounds' in the control panel
nor do I have ant Playback or Recording Device listed here. I presumed my
sound card was defective and properly uninstalled it from the Device Manager
and removed all the Creative Software.

My motherboard - Intel 845GBV - has an on-board audio on it and I enabled it
in the bios and booted the computer. I have exactly the same problem. Device
Manager shows under Sounds video and game controller, '
Intel(r)82801DB/DBM/DA AC'97 Audio Controller ' but I am back to the same
problem - There is no hardware listed for Playback or Record.

Please help.

TIA,
MPM
