I was having problems installing the mic without an error message. I
uninstalled and disconnected the usb connection for quickcam messager. Now I
am getting the above messages. I cannot make any changes in the playback
default device; voice playback default device; volume;
I have VIA AC97 audio and creative sound blaster pci for the choices for
record; mdi music playback microsoft GS Wavable SW Synth; test hardware I get
"windows cannot execute Dpvsetup.exe use add/remove program control panel to
install"; hardware VIA AC97 enhanced audio; controller(WMD) ;creative audo
pci (ES1371,ES1373)(WMD); no marks next to the hardware in the device
manager; my sound is part of the motherboard Abit KV7.
I had no sound problems before I disconnected the usb and removed the quick
cam messenger programs. I have tried the fixes and questions on you website
and none of them solve the problem. I can take video pictures, but there is
no sound. I use microsoft media player 11 and there is no sound. I get not
sounds from voice or windows default sounds for the program events. Windows
sound troubleshooting does not help. I do not know were to find the serial
number!
