Missing Add/Remove Items

Guest

I have searched this item and found a Post on 9/4/2006 and ahve tried all
the suggestions listed there. I don't have Auto Cad install and there are no
negative numbers in the Uninstall list.

Whenver I call the Add/Remove program I get "the list is being populated"
htne nothing happens.

I've tried the suggestions listed in Article ID : 266668 to no avail.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

I'm using an Intel P4 1 GB memory and 259 GB HD I'm using Windows XP Media
Edition on a clean install.

Is your 259 GB Hard Drive partitioned into smaller partitions? If only
one Hard Drive partition, then you need to allow time for the Add or Remove
program list to be populated.

let the box sit open for over an hour with the same result.

Hi Pat,

Try this. Start up Add or Remove Programs. Then go back to the Control
Panel. Go into Administrative Tools. Right Click Service and click Pin to
Start Menu.

Right now, open Services, while Add or Remove programs is running. Look
at the Services that effects or has something to do with Applications. Start
the Service and see what effect it has. If a major effect, then change the
Startup Type to Automatic. Click Apply then OK.
