Minimum needed for xp home to run?

What are the minimum files, or process needed to be running to run Win XP home with & without SP2?
Win 98SE only needs about five files running at finish of startup to run fine without all the bells
and whistles.

The Web has lots of sites dedicated to trimming or tweaking XP. If
you are looking for a minimal setup check out XP-Lite. It is a tool
for removing components to make XP's footprint smaller. If' your
question relates to XP's Services then you need to visit BlackViper's
site.
The primary function of XP General is for problems/issues related
to getting XP running. Not all Tweaks (Registry edits) or System
changes are bad - but no single configuration works for everybody.
There are literally thousands of manual adjustments you can make
to customize XP. Just one word of advice - be sure to take a image
of your machine. Some changes can have unintended or dramatic
consequences (Won't Boot at all).
Just start researching and if you have specific questions about any
recommended tweaks/changes - Post back with questions.
