Minimal hardware.

I'd like to try to install Vista on my 600MHz laptop. It has a 60GB hard
drive and 320MB of memory.

I understand fully that this is *way* below the required system specs.

I just want to see what it looks like. I don't care how slow it is.

Will the install work or will the installer lock me out totally?

I am aware of what you posted.

However, in the past it has been possible to run Microsoft operating systems
on way less than their advertised minimums.

But AFAIK, you could not get by the Windows XP minimums,
In any case, even if possible running Vista below minimums would be
painfully slow as you can deduce by reading reports of those with bare
minimums.

Also minimum means just that.
Vista may run, but various features may not.
Add to that this is Beta, and hacking the OS to attempt to get it to
function below minimums does nothing of value at least from a
test/evaluation point of view.
