blue screen during installation

i have compaq armada e500.
PIII 700
512MB RAM
60GB HDD
8MB ATI RADEON CARD

I get blue screen pointer reference error message while it says completing
installation thats the last step. in installing vista. I would also like to
know whether this notebook meets the system requirement for vista if not I
will buy a new one.
